Statistics Austria, together with the Federal Ministry of Labor and the Public Employment Service Austria, carries out an education-related career monitoring (in short: BibEr). The aim of this project is to render the employment career after leaving a formal educational institution statistically evaluable for all persons living in Austria.

The following groups can be analysed: Graduates from a formal education, dropouts from a formal education without obtaining a degree, FABA (Early school leavers), NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) and the target group for "Education until 18". The variety of attributes allows to analyse various aspects of those careers at the start as well as during their further development on the labour market. Sources are the base registers of the Register-based Census and the Register-based Labour Market Statistics.

Q: STATISTICS AUSTRIA, Monitoring of Education-Related Employment Behaviour (BibEr) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labour (BMA) and the Public Employment Service (AMS). Compiled on 20 December 2021. – For data privacy protection reasons, the statistical disclosure control method of "Record Swapping" has been used on a part of the data. Therefore, no reliable assertions can be made for analyses based on very small cell values. – To determine the cut-off date, 18 months are added to the day of graduation. In the formation of labour market status, ongoing training (incl. apprenticeship/vocational school attendance) dominates employment or AMS-registration. – Vocational maturity examinations and other trainings are not reported. – Compulsory schooling: Includes lower secondary schools, new secondary schools, academic secondary schools on lower level and special schools.
