The topic of Reconciliation of work and family life provides information on the active employment rate or part-time employment rate according to the ILO concept (excluding persons on parental leave) of persons aged 25 to 49. The comparison of persons aged between 25 and 49 years serves to better illustrate the impact of care responsibilities on working life, as employment rates are generally lower for younger and older persons.

Further details show the extent to which the employment engagement of mothers and fathers differs after the birth of a child and how women's employment is influenced by the age of the child. In addition, we provide details on the distribution of labor force participation among couples with children under 15. For more information, see our website under Family and employment or Family types.
