Description

The statistics on recognition or evaluation of a foreign degree provide data on the origin, type and level of foreign educational and professional qualifications. The data sources are the authorities responsible for the recognition or evaluation of foreign degrees. The primary data sources are regional and federal ministries, followed by different chambers of occupation, universities and lastly regional school authorities. Depending on the country where a degree was acquired an application for recognition, nostrification or validation is handed in to the authorities responsible for a qualification area.

Since 2016/17 Statistics Austria annually publishes statistics on the recognition or evaluation of a foreign degree based on the legal basis in Section 12 (1) of the Recognition and Assessment Act (2016).
