Description

Statistics on day care for children is of great relevance regarding the growing demand after reconciliation between work and family life. Every year various statistics on day care from all nine federal state are published and summarized in the German written ‘Kindertagesheimstatistik’.

Based on a contract for work and service every federal state collects data about its institutional day care. The collected data is standardized and predefined among all federal states. Statistik Austria collects the data from the nine federal states and is responsible for analyzing and publishing the Kindertagesheimstatistik. The results are published in form of tables for the four types of day care and for all nine federal states. Numbers for Austria are shown in each table. All tables can be found at Statistik Austria’s website.
