Municipalities and district authorities continuously update the stock of buildings, dwellings and other usage units in the Buildings and Dwellings Register. Furthermore, new constructions of entire buildings, demolitions as well as additions, extensions and reconstructions are recorded. After completion of these construction measures, the data are transferred to the building stock.
In the Data packages Buildings and Dwellings Register a data set of buildings and dwellings recorded up to 1 January 2023 is made available. The provided data set is according to selected characteristics and down to the level of the municipality.
It should be noted that the data packages of the Buildings and Dwellings Register are only comparable to a limited extent with the results of the housing census (see related topics), as additional imputations and plausibility tests are carried out in the housing census.
